The author, Ted Trainer, clearly knows a lot about money systems and local economies. After describing the current paradigm, he paints a picture of local economies with two currencies (local & national) where people live frugally (but well) and economies don’t grow. He doesn’t mention open source community exchange systems and says city/shire councils should set these up (for good reasons).

I think that he does point out some of the shortcomings of the LETS system and his point about capital raising for business is valid.
