When you’re at a barbecue and you tell your friends you belong to BrisLETS, what do they say?

Bris WHAT?”

It’s been observed that our name “BrisLETS” is not easily understood by the lay person.

At November’s Trading Day and 30-years celebration, a discussion started about changing BrisLETS’ logo.
One suggestion was for Alison Bird’s favourite colour, blue/turquoise, to be incorporated into it.

Since then, the discussion has continued, even expanded to include possibly changing our branding.
What is meant by
branding? According to an online source, brand identity includes logos, typography, colours, packaging and messaging, and it complements and reinforces the existing reputation of a brand. Brand identity attracts new customers to a brand while making existing customers feel at home.

What are your thoughts?

You’re invited to submit your ideas for logos and names by email to Megan at meganbrislets@gmail.com by 17 March 2019.

A vote on the best logo and brand will be held at a General Meeting starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday 17 March, just before the Trading Day starts. Another (separate) vote on the official name will also be held as part of some amendments to the constitution.  see the story by clicking here.

To support the discussion, Simon offered a presentation at the January Trading Day. Here is a pdf copy of it. He will do it again at the February Market Day at the Peace Hall on the 17th.
